Jodi Szimanski is a passionate connector who has worked in multiple sectors in Waterloo Region. After working at local marketing agencies and tech companies, Jodi turned to working at her alma mater the University of Waterloo so she could market something she truly believed in – a great education. She values all levels of education, volunteering her time with Waterloo-Oxford high school when her son was a student, and her husband was a teacher there.
Jodi has a passion for giving back to her community, seen by her time on the board with the United Way. Known for her leadership skills and ability to connect individuals, Jodi understands the importance of working collaboratively to create lasting change.
Jodi grew up in Waterloo Region and felt it was the perfect place to raise her own family. She was raised in a family with ties to farming, entrepreneurship, and manufacturing, instilling in her a strong work ethic, resilience, and the value of hard work. This upbringing shaped her pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to challenges and her belief in the power of local businesses to drive economic growth.
Whether supporting local businesses, advocating for change in our community, or promoting lifelong learning, Jodi is committed to advancing policies that benefit the residents of Kitchener-Conestoga.
